Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF URIC ACID LEVELS IN ELDERLY AT BANJAR ABIANSEMAL KAJA KAUH LODTUNDUH VILLAGE ABSTRACT Uric acid is the end product of the metabolism of purine compounds consisting of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen components. Uric acid levels in the blood are influenced by several factors, namely age, gender, and body mass index (BMI). This study aimed to describe uric acid levels in the elderly at Banjar Abiansemal Kaja Kauh, Lodtunduh Village. The type of research used is descriptive research with simple random sampling technique with a total of 37 respondents. The results showed that the elderly with normal uric acid levels were 32%, and the elderly with high uric acid levels were 68%. High uric acid levels were more dominated by the elderly age category of 38%, for sex was dominated by men of 38%, and the body mass index (BMI) was dominated by the normal body mass index category of 46%.
