Abstract
The prevalence of obesity in Denpasar City based on the 2013 basic health research data was 7.6%. Research conducted by Adhianto (2002) and Suparyatha (2004) in Purnami (2015), in junior high school students, the prevalence of obesity was 11% and 10.9% (Purnami, 2015). This type of research is a study with a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted in December 2022 at Junior High School number 1 Denpasar. The research sample is 64 samples. The method of determining the sample using Simple Random Sampling. The data analysis used is using the chi-square test. Based on research with a total sample of 64 people, the results obtained were 9 samples (14.1%) lacking energy consumption, 38 samples (59.4%) sufficient energy consumption, and 17 samples (26.6%) consuming more energy %), consuming less fat by 9 samples (14.1%), consuming sufficient fat by 34 samples (53.1%), and consuming more fat by 21 samples (32.8%), consumption of vegetables and fruit lack of 25 samples (39.1%) and adequate consumption of 39 samples (60.9%), nutritional status not obese 48 samples (75%), nutritional status obesity 16 samples (16%), duration of activity using gadgets for 26.6% of the time using normal gadgets and as much as 73.4% of the time using high gadgets. In this study the results of statistical analysis using the chi square method at a significant level of 5% = (α = 0.05) showed that there was a relationship between ideal consumption of energy, fat, vegetables and fruit with obesity status with a p value of 0.001. The results of statistical analysis using the chi square method at a significant level of 5% = (α = 0.05) show that there is no relationship between the length of activity using gadgets and obesity status with a p value of 0.471. Teenagers must get used to balancing behavior, consumption patterns and activities playing gadgets to prevent obesity rates.
