Abstract

Anemia is the most common nutritional problem worldwide, mainly due to iron deficiency. Anemia can occur in young men and women, but young women are more susceptible to anemia due to more blood exposure, especially during menstruation. This study aims to discuss diversity of food consumption and iron intake of female students. The is a cross sectional study using 65 samples. The study found that the level of food diversity included in the good category as much as 52.61% of the sample. The level of iron intake is in the category less as much as 93.5% of the sample. The high-density of food contain Fe was from fresh meat of 79% of the sample. The level of diversity of food consumption has fallen into good category, however the iron intake is still less recommendation, so that the level of consumption of iron in the diet need to increase.
