Abstract
Obesity at the age of five can be caused by formula milk and birth weight. The purpose of this study was to prove the relationship between history of formula feeding and birth weight with obesity in toddlers aged 24-59 months in Selabih Village, Tabanan Regency. This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional design. The number of samples used is the total population aged 24-59 months in Selabih Village, Tabanan Regency, totaling 40 toddlers. Data collection included weighing, measuring height, gathering information about the history of formula feeding, and birth weight. The results showed that 4 toddlers (10.0%) were obese which was assessed using the calculation of the z-score index BB/TB > +3SD. To find out the relationship between history of formula feeding and obesity in toddlers aged 24-59 months, a chi-square test was used which produced a p-value of 0.001 which means there is a significant relationship between history of formula feeding and obesity in toddlers. The relationship between birth weight and obesity in toddlers aged 24-59 months was then analyzed using the chi-square test which produced a p-value of 0.014 which means there was a significant relationship between birth weight and obesity in toddlers.
