Abstract

The background of this research is because there is no know knowledge of giving insulim to patients with Type II Diabetes Militus (DM), which is a metabolism disease with uncontrolled blood glucose due to damaged pancreatic beta cells so that they do not produce insulin hormone and the amount in Jembrana district is still high. This study aims to describe the description of knowledge of insulin administration in patients with type II DM in Yehembang village, Jembrana district. The type of research used is descriptive research. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, with sample of 35 people who were patient with type II DM. the results showed that the majority had good knowledge as many as 30 people (85,7%), respondents who had good knowledge of insulin administration in type II DM patient were mostly 38-43 years old. The majority are female as many as 19 people (54,2%). Respondents who have good knowledge are mostly high school education respondents as many as 29 people (82,9%). Respondents have good knowledge of working as entrepreneurs as many as 15 people (42,8%). It was concluded that the level of knowledge of type II DM patients on insulin administration, the majority of respondents had good knowledge. It is recommended that patients with type II DM follow the counseling given by health workers. Keywords : Knowledge, Insulin, Type II DM
