Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE GLICEMIC INDEX OF LUNCH WITH BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS OF DEV'S COLLECTION EMPLOYEES WEST DENPASAR ABSTRACT In 2020 the number of workforce in Denpasarthere were 501,143 people working. With the large number of workers, providing food for employees is an effort to improve the health status of employees. One of the macronutrients that act as an energy source is carbohydrates, carbohidrates in food have a varying glycemic index values, the higher the glycemic index value, the higher the effect on blood glucose levels. The glycemic index is a food grade according to its effect on blood sugar. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the glycemic index of lunch with blood glucose levels of Dev's Collection employees West Denpasar. This type of research is observational with a cross sectional research design. The sample size used is 30 employees who work in Dev's Collection. The glycemic index was collected by means of interviews with the help of a 24-hour recall form, Blood glucose levels were collected using the Easy Touch GCU tool. The statistical test used the Pearson correlation test with a value of = 0.05. The results showed that employees with moderate glycemic index values with moderate blood glucose levels (93.3%), employees with moderate glycemic index and high glucose levels (6.7%). The results of statistical analysis using the Pearson correlation test with a value of = 0.05 showed a relationship between the glycemic index of lunch with blood glucose levels of Dev's Collection employees West Denpasar (p = 0.001).
