Abstract
Factors that affect the nutritional status of children under five are the health status and nutritional status of the mother, intake and infectious diseases. In addition, protein consumption, zinc consumption, history of exclusive breastfeeding, and birth weight also affect the nutritional status of children under five. The type of research used is observational with a cross sectional approach. The results of the study, most of the consumption of good protein was 76.27%. 84.75% consume enough zinc. A total of 54.24% of the sample received exclusive breastfeeding. Normal birth weight is 88.14%. Samples with normal nutritional status were 83.05% while short samples were 16.95% and not found very short nutritional status and high nutritional status. There is a significant relationship between protein consumption and nutritional status of children under five with a strong correlation, (p = 0.001 and r = 0.520). There is a significant relationship between zinc consumption and nutritional status of children under five with a strong correlation, (p = 0.001 and r = 0.555). There was a significant relationship between a history of exclusive breastfeeding and the nutritional status of children under five with a moderate level of correlation (p = 0.003 and r = 0.381). There is a significant relationship between birth weight and nutritional status of children under five with a strong correlation level (p = 0.003 and r = 0.514).
