Abstract
ABSTRACT Premature rupture of membranes (PROM) is the rupture of the amniotic sac that occurs before the onset of labor. Factors contributing to PROM include maternal age, socioeconomic status, parity, anemia, smoking, a history of PROM, and infection. The objective of this study was to determine the profile of preterm premature rupture of membranes based on sociodemographic and obstetric factors at the Rote Ndao District General Hospital in 2025. This was a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design using a simple random sampling approach and secondary data. The study sample consisted of 101 participants. Data were collected using a checklist. Data analysis was performed using frequency distributions in SPSS. The results showed that, based on sociodemographic characteristics, PPL most frequently occurred in the 20 35 age group, with 38 (74.5%) women experiencing PPL lasting >12 hours. Regarding education level, PPL was most common among high school graduates, with 24 (47.1%) experiencing PPL lasting >12 hours. regarding occupation, KPD was most common among non-working mothers with KPD > 12 hours, totaling 44 (86.3%) individuals. Based on obstetric factors, when examined by parity, among anemia status, the highest number of mothers with a labor duration of > 12 hours were those without anemia, totaling 37 (72.5%) individuals. Conclusion: Based on the sociodemographic characteristics of laboring women with preterm rupture of membranes, the majority were of childbearing age (20 35 years). In terms of education, the majority had a high school education, and in terms of employment status, the majority were unemployed. Based on the obstetric characteristics of laboring mothers with preterm rupture of membranes, the majority were multiparous women, and most mothers did not have anemia.
