Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF CALCIUM OXALATE CRYSTAL URINE SEDIMENT LEVELS IN TAILORS AT JAYA LESTARI KONVEKSI IN ABIANSEMAL BALI ABSTRACT Background: Urinary tract stones (urolithiasis) are characterized by the formation of stones in the urinary tract, which are commonly composed of calcium oxalate crystals. The formation of these crystals is influenced by several factors, including inadequate water intake, the habit of delaying urination, low physical activity, and prolonged sitting. Purpose: This study aimed to describe calcium oxalate crystals in the urine sediment of tailors at Jaya Lestari Konveksi, Abiansemal Bali. Method: This study employed a descriptive research design using a purposive sampling technique. A total of 39 tailors who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria participated in the study. Urine sediment examination was performed using spot urine samples and analyzed microscopically to identify calcium oxalate crystals. Results: The majority of respondents showed abnormal calcium oxalate crystal findings (59.0%), with results categorized as negative, positive 1 (+1), positive 2 (+2), and positive 3 (+3). Abnormal findings were more common among respondents aged 46–55 years, those with inadequate water intake, the habit of delaying urination, and prolonged sitting while working. Conclusion: It can be concluded that calcium oxalate crystals were identified in the urine sediment of tailors, indicating a potential early marker for the risk of urinary tract stone formation. GAMBARANKADARSEDIMEN URINE KRISTAL KALSIUM OKSALAT PADA PENJAHIT DI JAYA LESTARI KONVEKSI DI ABIANSEMAL BALI ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Batu saluran kemih (BSK) atau urolithiasis merupakan penyakit yang ditandai dengan terbentuknya batu pada saluran kemih, yang umumnya tersusun dari kristal kalsium oksalat. Pembentukan kristal dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, seperti kurangnya konsumsi air minum, kebiasaan menahan buang air kecil, aktivitas fisik yang rendah, dan kebiasaan duduk dalam waktu lama. Tujuan: Mengetahui gambaran sedimen urine kristal kalsium oksalat pada penjahit di Jaya Lestari Konveksi Abiansemal Bali. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Responden berjumlah 39 penjahit yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Pemeriksaan dilakukan menggunakan sampel urine sewaktu dengan metode mikroskopis sedimen urine. Hasil: Sebagian besar responden menunjukkan hasil kristal kalsium oksalat abnormal (59,0%), dengan variasi hasil negatif, positif 1 (+1), positif 2 (+2), dan positif 3 (+3). Hasil abnormal lebih banyak ditemukan pada responden usia 46–55 tahun, memiliki kebiasaan kurang minum, menahan buang air kecil, dan duduk lama saat bekerja. Simpulan: Ditemukan kristal kalsium oksalat pada sedimen urine penjahit yang berpotensi menjadi indikator awal risiko batu saluran kemih. Kata kunci: sedimen urine, kalsium oksalat, penjahit
