Abstract

REVIEW OF SANITATION CONDITIONS AT REFILL DRINKING WATER DEPOTS IN PEDUNGAN VILLAGE, SOUTH DENPASAR ABCRACK Refill Drinking Water Depots (RDWDs) are widely used by the community because they provide a practical and economical source of drinking water. To ensure the safety of the water produced, RDWDs must comply with hygiene and sanitation requirements. Depots that do not meet these requirements may increase the risk of contamination and have negative impacts on public health. Preliminary observations showed that several refill drinking water depots in Pedungan Village, South Denpasar, had not met the required hygiene and sanitation standards. This study aimed to determine the sanitation conditions of refill drinking water depots in Pedungan Village, South Denpasar, in 2026. This research used a descriptive design with an observational approach. The objects of the study consisted of 10 refill drinking water depots. Data were collected through observation using a sanitation inspection checklist. The aspects assessed included location, building condition, sanitation facilities, equipment, and handler hygiene. The data were analyzed descriptively and presented in tables. The results showed that 1 depot (10%) met the requirements, while 9 depots (90%) did not meet the hygiene and sanitation requirements. The non-compliances identified included locations close to sources of contamination, poorly maintained buildings, inadequate handwashing facilities, and workers who did not use personal protective equipment. It can be concluded that most refill drinking water depots in Pedungan Village, South Denpasar, have not met hygiene and sanitation requirements; therefore, regular supervision and sanitation improvements are needed. TINJAUAN KEADAAN SANITASI DEPOT AIR MINUM ISI ULANG DI KELURAHAN PEDUNGAN DENPASAR SELATAN ABSTRAK Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang (DAMIU) merupakan sarana penyedia air minum yang banyak digunakan masyarakat karena praktis dan ekonomis. Untuk menjamin keamanan air minum yang dihasilkan, DAMIU harus memenuhi persyaratan higiene sanitasi. Sanitasi depot yang tidak memenuhi syarat dapat meningkatkan risiko pencemaran dan berdampak pada kesehatan masyarakat. Berdasarkan pengamatan awal, masih ditemukan beberapa DAMIU di Kelurahan Pedungan Denpasar Selatan yang belum memenuhi persyaratan higiene sanitasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keadaan sanitasi DAMIU di Kelurahan Pedungan Denpasar Selatan Tahun 2026. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan observasional. Objek penelitian meliputi 10 depot air minum isi ulang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi menggunakan lembar checklist inspeksi sanitasi. Aspek yang dinilai meliputi lokasi, bangunan, fasilitas sanitasi, peralatan, dan higiene penjamah. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1 depot (10%) memenuhi syarat dan 9 depot (90%) tidak memenuhi syarat higiene sanitasi. Ketidaksesuaian yang ditemukan antara lain lokasi yang berdekatan dengan sumber pencemaran, kondisi bangunan yang kurang terpelihara, kurang tersedianya fasilitas cuci tangan, serta pekerja yang tidak menggunakan alat pelindung diri. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar DAMIU di Kelurahan Pedungan Denpasar Selatan belum memenuhi persyaratan higiene sanitasi sehingga diperlukan pengawasan dan perbaikan sanitasi secara berkala.
