Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PHYSICAL AIR QUALITY AND INDIVIDUAL FACTORS WITH THE OCCURRENCE OF SICK BUILDING SYNDROME IN THE CENTRAL STERILE SUPPLY AND INTEGRATED LAUNDRY DEPARTMENTS Study Conducted at RSUD Kabupaten Klungkung, Year 2026 ABSTRACT Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) is a condition in which workers who spend time in certain buildings experience acute health problems without any identified disease or specific causative factor. This study aims to determine the relationship between physical air quality and individual factors with the incidence of SBS at the Central Sterile Supply Installation and Laundry facilities of RSUD Kabupaten Klungkung. The research employed a quantitative analytical design using a cross-sectional method and Chi-Square test. Data were collected through measurements using a lux meter, sound level meter, hygrometer, and questionnaires, with a sample size of 30 respondents. The correlation analysis showed that environmental factors significantly associated with SBS incidence were temperature (p=0.000), humidity (p=0.000), and noise (p=0.041), while lighting showed no significant relationship (p=0.366). Regarding individual factors, work duration (p=0.017) and length of service (p=0.009) were significantly associated with SBS, whereas age (p=0.372), sex (p=0.156), and history of allergy (p=0.061) showed no significant relationship.These findings highlight the need for regular air quality monitoring, maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning systems, and improvement of substandard working environmental conditions. Staff are also expected to consistently implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and use personal protective equipment (PPE). Keyword : Sick Building Syndrome, Air Quality HUBUNGAN KUALITAS FISIK UDARA DAN FAKTOR INDIVIDU DENGAN KEJADIAN SICK BUILDING SYNDROME DI CENTRAL STERILE SUPPLY DEPARTMENT DAN LAUNDRY TERPADU Studi dilaksanakan di RSUD Kabupaten Klungkung Tahun 2026 ABSTRAK Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) adalah kondisi dimana pekerja yang menghabiskan waktu di gedung tertentu mengalami masalah kesehatan akut tanpa adanya penyakit atau penyebab spesifik yang dapat diidentifikasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan kualitas fisik udara dan faktor individu dengan kejadian Sick Building Syndrome di Instalasi Central Sterile Supply dan Laundry di RSUD Kabupaten Klungkung. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah analitik kuantitatif, dengan metode cross sectional dan uji Chi-Square Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengukuran menggunakan alat lux meter, sound level meter, hygrometer dan kuisioner. Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 30 orang. Berdasarkan analisis hubungan, faktor lingkungan yang memiliki hubungan secara signifikan dengan kejadian SBS adalah suhu (p=0,000), kelembapan (p=0,000) dan kebisingan (p=0,041). Sebaliknya, pencahayaan tidak menunjukkan hubungan dengan kejadian SBS (p=0,366). Sedangkan untuk faktor individu yang berhubungan dengan kejadian Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) yaitu durasi kerja (p=0,017) dan masa kerja (p=0,009). Usia (p=0,372), jenis kelamin (p=0,156), dan riwayat alergi (p=0,061) tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan kejadian SBS. Hal ini perlu ditindaklanjuti oleh RS dengan melakukan pemantauan kualitas udara secara berkala, pemeliharaan sistem ventilasi dan pendingin udara, serta perbaikan kondisi lingkungan kerja yang belum memenuhi standar. Petugas diharapkan menerapkan SOP dan menggunakan alat pelindung diri secara konsisten. Kata Kunci: Sick Building Syndrome, Kualitas Udara
