Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF SURGICAL WOUND CONDITIONS IN POST CESAREAN SECTION MOTHERS BASED ON MATERNAL CHARACTERISTICS AT KERTHA USADA HOSPITAL SINGARAJA ABSTRACT Cesarean section is a surgical procedure that results in an incision wound requiring optimal healing to prevent infection. This study aimed to describe the condition of surgical wounds in post-cesarean section mothers based on maternal characteristics at Kertha Usada Hospital, Singaraja. This study employed a descriptive design with a retrospective approach. Data were obtained from the medical records of post-cesarean section mothers from January to December 2025. The variables examined included surgical wound condition, maternal age, parity, and comorbidities. Total sampling was applied, resulting in 725 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and presented as frequency distributions and percentages. The results showed that 642 respondents (88.6%) had normal surgical wound conditions, while 83 respondents (11.4%) experienced signs of wound infection. Most respondents were of healthy reproductive age (20–35 years) (68.6%), multiparous (61.0%), and had no comorbidities (80.8%). These findings indicate that normal surgical wound conditions were more frequently observed among mothers with these characteristics. In conclusion, the majority of post-cesarean section mothers had normal surgical wound conditions. Continuous monitoring of surgical wounds remains important to support early detection of infection and improve the quality of midwifery care. . Keywords: cesarean section, surgical wound, wound infection, maternal characteristics, post-cesarean section GAMBARAN KONDISI LUKA OPERASI PADA IBU PASCA PERSALINAN SECTIO CAESAREA BERDASARKAN KARAKTERISTIK IBU ABSTRAK Persalinan sectio caesarea merupakan tindakan operatif yang menimbulkan luka insisi sehingga memerlukan penyembuhan yang optimal untuk mencegah infeksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kondisi luka operasi pada ibu post sectio caesarea berdasarkan karakteristik ibu di RS Kertha Usada Singaraja. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif dengan pendekatan retrospektif. Data diperoleh dari rekam medis ibu post sectio caesarea periode Januari–Desember 2025. Variabel yang diteliti meliputi kondisi luka operasi, usia, paritas, dan komorbid. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah total sampling dengan jumlah sampel 725 responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan disajikan dalam distribusi frekuensi dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 642 responden (88,6%) memiliki kondisi luka operasi normal dan 83 responden (11,4%) mengalami tanda infeksi. Sebagian besar responden berada pada usia reproduksi sehat 20–35 tahun sebanyak 497 orang (68,6%), multipara sebanyak 442 orang (61,0%), dan tidak memiliki komorbid sebanyak 586 orang (80,8%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kondisi luka operasi yang normal lebih banyak ditemukan pada kelompok ibu dengan karakteristik tersebut. Kesimpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas ibu post sectio caesarea memiliki kondisi luka operasi normal. Pemantauan kondisi luka operasi tetap diperlukan untuk mendukung deteksi dini infeksi dan peningkatan mutu pelayanan kebidanan. .
