Abstract

THE CORRELATION BETWEEN URIC ACID LEVELS AND BLOOD PRESSURE IN HYPERTENSIVE PATIENTS AT KASNA MEDIKA KARANGASEM HOSPITAL ABSTRACT Background high uric acid levels are positively correlated with an increased risk of hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, coronary heart disease, and metabolic syndrome. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between uric acid levels and blood pressure in patients with hypertension at Kasna Medika Karangasem Hospital. The study was conducted from August to October 2025 with a population of 78 people and a sample of 44 people. The method used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. Uric acid was examined using clinical chemistry methods, and blood pressure was examined using the medical records of hypertensive patients. Correlation analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation test. The result showed that most respondents had high uric acid levels (63.6%) and hypertension (70.5%). Respondents with normal uric acid levels had the same proportion in the normotensive and hypertensive groups (18.2%), while those with high uric acid levels mostly had hypertension (52.3%). The Spearman correlation test showed a result of p = 0.024 and rs: 0.339. The conclusion of the study shows a correlation between uric acid levels and blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Keywords: correlation, uric acid, blood pressure HUBUNGAN KADAR ASAM URAT DENGAN TEKANAN DARAH PADA PENDERITA HIPERTENSI DI RUMAH SAKIT KASNA MEDIKA KARANGASEM ABSTRAK Latar belakang kadar asam urat yang tinggi berkorelasi positif dengan peningkatan risiko hipertensi, diabetes mellitus tipe 2, penyakit ginjal kronis, penyakit jantung koroner, serta sindrom metabolik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan kadar asam urat dengan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi di Rumah Sakit Kasna Medika Karangasem. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Agustus sampai Oktober 2025 dengan jumlah populasi 78 orang dan sampel sebanyak 44 orang. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Pemeriksaan asam urat dengan metode clinical chemistry dan pemeriksaan tekanan darah menggunakan rekam medis penderita hipertensi. Analisa korelasi menggunakan uji Spearman. Hasil responden sebagian besar memiliki kadar asam urat dengan kategori tinggi (63,6%) dan tekanan darah dengan kategori hipertensi (70,5%). Responden dengan kadar asam urat normal memiliki proporsi yang sama pada kelompok normotensi dan hipertensi (18,2%), kadar asam urat tinggi sebagian besar memiliki hipertensi (52,3%). Uji korelasi Spearman menunjukan hasil p = 0,024 dan rs: 0,339. Simpulan hasil penelitian menunjukan hubungan antara kadar asam urat dengan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi.
