Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN THE PRODUCTIVE AGE GROUP AT BTN BHARATA, SIBANGKAJA VILLAGE, ABIANSEMAL DISTRICT Modern lifestyle changes, such as reduced physical activity, high-fat diets, and smoking habits, contribute to increased total cholesterol levels, which are major risk factors for coronary heart disease and other non-communicable diseases. Total cholesterol refers to the sum of cholesterol carried by lipoproteins (HDL, LDL, VLDL), and excessive levels may lead to hypercholesterolemia. The productive age group (15–64 years) is crucial for early screening, as prevalence rises with age and unhealthy lifestyles. This study was conducted from February to March 2026 in BTN Bharata, Sibangkaja Village, Abiansemal District, aiming to describe total cholesterol levels among productive-age residents using a descriptive approach with Point of Care Testing (POCT). Results showed that individuals aged 51–56 years dominated (54.3%), with women comprising (51.4%). High-fat food consumption was reported by (42.8%), non-smokers accounted for (60%), and overweight BMI was prevalent at (82.6%). Cholesterol levels were categorized as high in 57.1%, borderline high in (22.9%), and normal in (20%). In conclusion, most high cholesterol cases were found in the 59–64 age group (45.7%). Elevated cholesterol was also observed in both genders (28.6%), among those consuming fatty foods 1–2 times weekly (28.6%), non-smokers (31.4%), and overweight individuals (82,6%). GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA USIA PRODUKTIF DI LINGKUNGAN BTN BHARATA DESA SIBANGKAJA KECAMATAN ABIANSEMAL Perubahan gaya hidup modern, seperti kurangnya aktivitas fisik, konsumsi makanan tinggi lemak, dan kebiasaan merokok, berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kadar kolesterol total yang menjadi faktor risiko utama penyakit jantung koroner serta penyakit tidak menular. Kolesterol total adalah jumlah kolesterol yang dibawa oleh lipoprotein (HDL, LDL, VLDL), di mana kadar berlebih dapat menimbulkan hiperkolesterolemia. Usia produktif (15–64 tahun) menjadi kelompok penting untuk skrining dini karena prevalensi kolesterol tinggi meningkat seiring bertambahnya usia dan pola hidup tidak sehat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Februari–Maret 2026 di BTN Bharata, Desa Sibangkaja, Kecamatan Abiansemal dengan metode deskriptif menggunakan pemeriksaan Point of Care Testing (POCT). Hasil menunjukkan kelompok usia 51–56 tahun mendominasi (54,3%), perempuan sebanyak (51,4%), konsumsi makanan berlemak (42,8%), tidak merokok 60%, dan overweight (82,6%). Kadar kolesterol tinggi ditemukan pada (57,1%), batas tinggi (22,9%), dan normal (20%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar kasus kolesterol tinggi terdapat pada usia 59–64 tahun (45,7%), baik laki-laki maupun perempuan (28,6%), konsumsi makanan berlemak 1–2 kali seminggu (28,6%), tidak merokok (31,4%), serta kategori overweight (82,6%).
