Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF ERYTHROCYTE INDEX AFTER CHEMOTHERAPY IN BREAST CANCER PATIENTS AT BALI MANDARA REGIONAL HOSPITAL Cancer is a disease characterized by uncontrolled abnormal cell growth that can invade surrounding tissues, including the mammary glands, ducts, and supporting tissues of the breast. One of the side effects of chemotherapy is myelosuppression, which is a decrease in the number of blood cells due to toxicity to blood-forming organs. This condition can disrupt erythrocyte production, so monitoring through erythrocyte indices is necessary. This descriptive study aims to determine the description of erythrocyte indices after chemotherapy in breast cancer patients at Bali Mandara Regional Hospital. The study used data from medical records with a purposive sampling technique of 165 samples. The results showed a normal MCV value (80–100) of 143 people (86.7%), low MCV (<80) of 16 people (9.7%), high MCV (>100) of 6 people (3.6%). Normal MCH values (26–34) of 139 people (84.2%), low MCH (<26) of 20 people (12.1%), and high MCH (>34) of 6 people (3.6%). Normal MCHC values (32–36) were 124 people (75.2%), low MCHC (<32) were 40 people (24.2%), and high MCHC (>36) was 1 person (0.6%). The majority of respondents were aged 45–59 years (60.0%) with the most common cancer types being Invasive carcinoma of no special type (74.5%) and grade II (53.3%). In conclusion, most patients had erythrocyte indices in the normal category. Keywords: breast cancer, chemotherapy, erythrocyte indices GAMBARAN INDEKS ERITROSIT SESUDAH KEMOTERAPI PADA PASIEN KANKER PAYUDARA DI RSUD BALI MANDARA Kanker merupakan penyakit yang ditandai oleh pertumbuhan sel abnormal yang tidak terkendali dan dapat menyerang jaringan sekitarnya, termasuk kelenjar susu, saluran, dan jaringan penunjang payudara. Salah satu efek samping kemoterapi adalah mielosupresi, yaitu penurunan jumlah sel darah akibat toksisitas terhadap organ pembentuk darah. Kondisi ini dapat mengganggu produksi eritrosit, sehingga diperlukan pemantauan melalui pemeriksaan indeks eritrosit. Penelitian deskriptif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran indeks eritrosit sesudah kemoterapi pada pasien kanker payudara di RSUD Bali Mandara. Penelitian menggunakan data dari rekam medis dengan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 165 sampel. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan nilai MCV normal (80– 100) sebanyak 143 orang (86,7%), MCV rendah (<80) 16 orang (9,7%), MCV tinggi (>100) 6 orang (3,6%). Nilai MCH normal (26–34) sebanyak 139 orang (84,2%), MCH rendah (<26) 20 orang (12,1%), MCH tinggi (>34) 6 orang (3,6%). Nilai MCHC normal (32–36) sebanyak 124 orang (75,2%), MCHC rendah (<32) 40 orang (24,2%), dan MCHC tinggi (>36) 1 orang (0,6%). Mayoritas responden berada pada usia 45–59 tahun (60,0%) dengan tipe kanker terbanyak Invasive carcinoma of no special type (74,5%) dan grade II (53,3%). Kesimpulannya, sebagian besar pasien memiliki indeks eritrosit dalam kategori normal. Kata kunci : kanker payudara, kemoterapi, indeks eritrosit
