Abstract

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FASTING BLOOD GLUCOSE AND CREATININE LEVELS IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS AT WANGAYA GENERAL HOSPITAL, DENPASAR ABTRACT Background: Uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus can lead to chronic complications, including impaired kidney function. Kidney damage in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is commonly indicated by increased blood creatinine levels due to prolonged hyperglycemia that damages renal microvasculature. Therefore, identifying the relationship between fasting blood glucose and creatinine levels is important as an early indicator of kidney dysfunction. Purpose: To determine the relationship between fasting blood glucose levels and creatinine levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at Wangaya Regional General Hospital, Denpasar. Method: This study used an analytical cross-sectional design with 41 respondents selected by purposive sampling. Data were obtained from laboratory examinations of fasting blood glucose and creatinine using an autoanalyzer. Analysis was conducted using the Spearman correlation test. Results: Most respondents had high fasting blood glucose (85.3%) and elevated creatinine levels (56.1%). The Spearman test showed p < 0.05, indicating a significant relationship. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between fasting blood glucose and creatinine levels in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Keywords : Fasting Blood Glucose, Creatinine, Diabetes HUBUNGAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH PUASA (GDP) DENGAN KADAR KREATININ PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI RSUD WANGAYA DENPASAR ABSTRAK Latar belakang : Diabetes Melitus yang tidak terkontrol dapat menimbulkan berbagai komplikasi kronis, salah satunya gangguan fungsi ginjal. Kerusakan ginjal pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 umumnya ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar kreatinin dalam darah. Kondisi ini terjadi akibat hiperglikemia yang berlangsung lama sehingga menyebabkan kerusakan pembuluh darah kecil pada ginjal. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kadar glukosa darah puasa dengan kadar kreatinin sebagai indikator awal penurunan fungsi ginjal. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kadar glukosa darah puasa dengan kadar kreatinin pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 di RSUD Wangaya Denpasar. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan desain analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 41 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data diperoleh melalui pemeriksaan laboratorium kadar glukosa darah puasa dan kreatinin menggunakan alat autoanalyzer. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil : Sebagian besar responden memiliki kadar glukosa darah puasa tinggi sebanyak 35 orang (85,3%) dan kadar kreatinin tinggi sebanyak 23 orang (56,1%). Hasil uji Spearman menunjukkan nilai p < 0,05 yang menandakan adanya hubungan signifikan antara kedua variabel. Simpulan : Terdapat hubungan antara kadar glukosa darah puasa dengan kadar kreatinin pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2. Kata kunci : Glukosa Darah Puasa, Kreatinin, Diabetes
