Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF HEMOGLOBIN LEVELS IN FARMERS USING PESTICIDES IN SANGKARAGUNG VILLAGE JEMBRANA DISTRICT JEMBRANA REGENCY ABSTRACT Anemia is a common health problem among farmers, particularly due to pesticide exposure which can interfere with the formation and function of hemoglobin in the blood. Continuous exposure to pesticides may reduce hemoglobin levels and increase the risk of anemia. This study aims to describe hemoglobin levels among farmers who use pesticides in Sangkaragung Village, Jembrana District, Jembrana Regency. This research used a descriptive quantitative design with a total sampling technique involving 30 respondents. Data were collected through interviews and hemoglobin level examination using a Hematology Analyzer method. The results showed that the majority of respondents had normal hemoglobin levels, with 23 respondents (76.7%), while 5 respondents (16.7%) had low hemoglobin levels and 2 respondents (6.7%) had high hemoglobin levels. Normal hemoglobin levels were predominantly found in male respondents, accounting for 21 respondents (77,8%). The conclusion indicates that most farmers have normal hemoglobin levels; however, some respondents still experience low hemoglobin levels, which may be influenced by pesticide exposure, duration and frequency of spraying, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Keywords: Hemoglobin, Pesticides, Farmers, Anemia. - GAMBARAN KADAR HEMOGLOBIN PADA PETANI PENGGUNA PESTISIDA DI KELURAHAN SANGKARAGUNG KECAMATAN JEMBRANA KABUPATEN JEMBRANA ABSTRAK Anemia merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang sering terjadi pada petani, terutama akibat paparan pestisida yang dapat mengganggu pembentukan dan fungsi hemoglobin dalam darah. Paparan pestisida secara terus-menerus dapat menyebabkan penurunan kadar hemoglobin sehingga meningkatkan risiko anemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar hemoglobin pada petani pengguna pestisida di Kelurahan Sangkaragung, Kecamatan Jembrana, Kabupaten Jembrana. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik total sampling sebanyak 30 responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan pemeriksaan kadar hemoglobin menggunakan metode Hematology Analyzer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki kadar hemoglobin normal yaitu sebanyak 23 orang (76,7%), sedangkan 5 orang (16,7%) memiliki kadar hemoglobin rendah dan 2 orang (6,7%) memiliki kadar hemoglobin tinggi. Kadar hemoglobin normal didominasi oleh responden laki-laki sebanyak 21 orang (77,8%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah sebagian besar petani memiliki kadar hemoglobin normal, namun masih ditemukan responden dengan kadar hemoglobin rendah yang diduga dipengaruhi oleh paparan pestisida, lama dan frekuensi penyemprotan, serta penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD).
