Abstract
OVERVIEW OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY AT THE SELEMADEG TIMUR I TABANAN COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER ABSTRACT Background: An elderly person is someone who is 60 years old. As age increases, changes in the structure and function of cells, tissues, and organ systems occur in the body. The main risk factor is lipid metabolism disorders, especially increased total cholesterol levels in the blood. Objective: To determine the picture of total cholesterol levels in the elderly at the UPTD Selemadeg Timur I Tabanan Health Center. Method: This study used a descriptive research with a non-probability technique, namely purposive sampling. Total cholesterol levels were measured using the POCT method. Results: The study conducted on on 44 elderly showed that 10 people (22,7%) had normal cholesterol levels, 18 people (40,9%) had borderline high cholesterol levels, and 16 people (36,4%) had high cholesterol levels. Based on age characteristics, respondents with high total cholesterol levels were found in the elderly (57,9%). Based on gender, those with high total cholesterol levels were mostly women (41,0%). Based on physical activity characteristics, those with high total cholesterol levels mostly did light physical activity (38.10%). Based on blood pressure characteristics, those with high total cholesterol levels were found to suffer from hypertension stage 1 (60,0%). Conclusion: It can be concluded that the majority of elderly people at the Selemadeg Timur I Tabanan Community Health Center had borderline high total cholesterol levels. Keywords: elderly, total cholesterol GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA LANSIA DI UPTD PUSKESMAS SELEMADEG TIMUR I TABANAN ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Lanjut usia adalah seseorang yang sudah berumur 60 tahun. Seiring bertambahnya usia, perubahan struktur dan fungsi sel, jaringan, dan sistem organ terjadi di dalam tubuh. Faktor risiko utamanya adalah gangguan metabolisme lipid, terutama peningkatan kadar kolesterol total dalam darah. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada lansia di UPTD Puskesmas Selemadeg Timur I Tabanan. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Non-Probability sampling yaitu purposive sampling. Kadar kolesterol total diukur menggunakan metode POCT. Hasil: Penelitian yang dilakukan pada 44 lansia menunjukkan bahwa 10 orang (22,7%) memiliki kadar kolesterol normal, 18 orang (40,9%) memiliki kadar kolesterol ambang batas tinggi, dan 16 orang (36,4%) memiliki kadar kolesterol tinggi. Berdasarkan karakteristik usia, responden dengan kadar kolesterol total tinggi ditemukan pada lansia utama (57,9%). Berdasarkan jenis kelamin, responden yang memiliki kadar kolesterol total tinggi sebagian besar adalah perempuan (41,0%). Berdasarkan karakteristik aktivitas fisik, responden yang memiliki kadar kolesterol total tinggi sebagian besar melakukan aktivitas fisik ringan (38,1%). Berdasarkan karakteristik tekanan darah, responden yang memiliki kadar kolesterol total tinggi didapatkan pada hipertensi stage 1 (60,0%). Kesimpulan: Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar lansia di UPTD Puskesmas Selemadeg Timur I Tabanan memiliki kadar kolesterol total ambang batas tinggi. Kata kunci: lansia, kolesterol total
