Abstract
Dental and oral health need to be considered in addition to general health, because oral health can affect overall body health.The cause of dental and oral health problems in the community one of which is a behavioral factor or attitude ignoring dental and oral hygiene. This is based on the lack of knowledge of the importance of maintaining oral health. The purpose of this study was to determine knowledge of dental health and dental and oral hygiene in fifth grade students at SDN 9 Sesetan. This type of research is descriptive research. The research was conducted at SDN 9 Sesetan, South Denpasar District, Denpasar City in April 2019, with 24 respondents. The frequency of knowledge with very good criteria is 0%, with good criteria 12.5%, with sufficient criteria 25%, with criteria less 62.5%, and criteria of failure 0%. The average value of the level of student knowledge 57.83 including the criteria that are lacking. The frequency of OHI-S scores with good criteria is 20.83%, medium criteria is 75%, and bad criteria is 4.17%. The average value of OHI-S is 1.86, including moderate criteria. This study also showed that the poorer the respondents 'dental health knowledge, the worse the respondent OHI-S scores.
