Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE FOOD TRADERSAND HANDWASHING BEHAVIOR IN THE NEGARI MARKET OF THE SINGAPADU TENGAH VILLAGE2020 ABSTRACT Hand washing is a sanitation activity to clean hands from germs and dirt. Negari Market is a traditional market owned by the Negari Indigenous Village, which sells daily necessities for the Negari Indigenous Village community and its surroundings. Observation results show that traders still do not behave properly in washing their hands, where food traders still use kobokan water in washing their hands when serving food. This study aims to determine the relationship of the level of knowledge of food traders with hand washing behavior in the Negari Market. The method used in this research is a correlational research method. The results showed the level of knowledge of the majority of traders was seen from the questionnaire results 25 food traders in the Negari Market found two people (8%) were categorized good and 23 people (92%) were categorized as moderate. While the level of merchant behavior shows that the behavior of washing hands from 25 food traders in the Negari Market found 12% of good behavior and 88% in the medium category. The results of the statistical test were significant with p(0.021) <α (0.05) which stated there was a relationship between the knowledge of food traders and hand washing behavior in the Negari Market. This shows that the better the knowledge of food traders, the better the behavior of food traders in washing hands properly and correctly. Keywords: Knowledge, Behavior, Hand Washing
