Abstract

IDENTIFICATION OF DERMATOPHYTE FUNGI IN PATIENTS AT THE SKIN AND VENEREAL CLINIC OF KARANGASEM REGIONAL HOSPITAL ABSTRACT Dermatophytosis is a superficial mycosis caused by fungi that invade keratin-containing tissues, such as the stratum corneum of the skin epidermis, hair, and nails. This study aimed to identify dermatophyte fungi in patients attending the Dermatology and Venereology Clinic of RSUD Karangasem. This research employed a descriptive study design involving 33 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through interviews, 10% KOH examinations, and fungal culture on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium. The results showed that 30.3% of the samples were identified as dermatophyte fungi. Based on confirmatory examinations using the fungal culture method, most dermatophyte-positive cases were found among adults aged 19-59 years (50%), males (60%), individuals without a history of disease (90%), residents of lowland areas (50%), those with adequate personal hygiene (50%), and those with no history of antifungal drug use (60%). In conclusion, dermatophyte fungi were detected in 30.3% of the samples, while no dermatophyte fungi were found in the remaining 69.7% of the samples. Keywords: Dermatophytosis, Dermatophyte fungi, Fungal culture IDENTIFIKASI JAMUR DERMATOFITA PADA PASIEN DI KLINIK KULIT DAN KELAMIN RSUD KARANGASEM ABSTRAK Dermatofitosis merupakan salah satu penyakit mikosis superfisialis akibat jamur yang menginvasi jaringan yang mengandung keratin seperti stratum korneum pada epidermis kulit, rambut, dan kuku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jamur dermatofita pada pasien di Klinik Kulit dan Kelamin RSUD Karangasem. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 33 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, pemeriksaan KOH 10% dan kultur jamur media PDA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 30,3% sampel teridentifikasi jamur dermatofita. Sebagian besar hasil pemeriksaan konfirmasi dengan metode kultur jamur, yang teridentifikasi jamur dermatofita ditemukan pada kelompok usia dewasa 19-59 tahun (50%), jenis kelamin laki-laki (60%), tidak memiliki riwayat penyakit (90%), wilayah tempat tinggal dataran rendah (50%), higiene perorangan yang cukup (50%), dan tidak ada riwayat penggunaan obat antijamur (60%). Kesimpulannya ditemukan adanya jamur dermatofita sebanyak 30,3%; sementara 69,7% sampel lainnya tidak ditemukan adanya jamur dermatofita. Kata kunci: Dermatofitosis, Jamur dermatofita, Kultur jamur
