Abstract
THE EFECTIVENESS OF ECO ENZYME IN REDUCING ODOR AND POTENTAIL OF HYDROGEN LEVELS IN HOSPITAL WASTEWATER IN 2026 (A Study conducted at Mangusada Regional Hospital, Badung Regency) ABSTRACT Hospital wastewater contains organic materials, chemical compounds, and pathogenic microorganisms that have the potential to cause environmental pollution through odor and pH changes, including at Mangusada Regional Hospital. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of eco enzyme in controlling odor and pH of wastewater at Mangusada Regional Hospital, Badung Regency, in 2026. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a post-test only control group design. Wastewater samples were collected from the inlet of the wastewater treatment plant using the grab sampling technique. The treatments consisted of a control group and eco enzyme concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%, each with six replications. Odor measurements were conducted through organoleptic tests by six panelists, while pH was measured using a pH meter after 24 hours of incubation. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, homogeneity test, One-Way ANOVA, and Tukey HSD test. The results showed that eco enzyme had a significant effect on reducing odor and changing pH values (p < 0.05). Eco enzyme concentrations of 5% and 10% were more effective in reducing odor, while the 15% concentration was the most effective in reducing pH. Eco enzyme has the potential to become an environmentally friendly alternative for wastewater treatment. Hospitals are advised to consider the use of eco enzyme, and further studies are recommended on BOD parameters, aeration application, and the development of time variation treatments. Keywords: eco enzyme, wastewater, odor, pH EFEKTIVITAS ECO ENZYME SEBAGAI PENANGANAN BAU DAN POTENTIAL OF HYDROGEN PADA AIR LIMBAH RUMAH SAKIT TAHUN 2026 (Studi dilakukan di RSD Mangusada Kabupaten Badung) ABSTRAK Air limbah rumah sakit mengandung bahan organik, senyawa kimia, dan mikroorganisme patogen yang berpotensi menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan melalui bau dan perubahan pH, termasuk di RSD Mangusada. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas eco enzyme dalam penanganan bau dan pH air limbah di RSD Mangusada Kabupaten Badung Tahun 2026. Penelitian menggunakan metode quasi experiment dengan rancangan post test only control group design. Sampel air limbah diambil dari inlet IPAL menggunakan teknik grab sampling. Perlakuan terdiri atas kontrol dan eco enzyme konsentrasi 5%, 10%, dan 15% dengan enam kali pengulangan. Pengukuran bau dilakukan melalui uji organoleptik oleh enam panelis, sedangkan pH diukur menggunakan pH meter setelah inkubasi 24 jam. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Shapiro-Wilk, homogenitas, One-Way ANOVA, dan Tukey HSD. Hasil menunjukkan eco enzyme berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penurunan bau dan perubahan pH (p < 0,05). Konsentrasi 5% dan 10% lebih efektif menurunkan bau, sedangkan 15% paling efektif menurunkan pH. Eco enzyme berpotensi menjadi alternatif pengolahan limbah yang ramah lingkungan. Rumah sakit disarankan mempertimbangkan penggunaan eco enzyme serta bagi penelitian lanjutan pada parameter BOD, penggunaan aerasi, dan pengembangan variasi waktu.
