Abstract
EFFECTIVENESS OF FLY TRAP COLOR VARIATIONS WITH BROWN SUGAR ATTRACTANT ON THE NUMBER OF FLY TRAPPED IN STREET FOOD STALLS PADANGSAMBIAN 2026 ABSTRACT Flies are mechanical vectors of disease that can contaminate food, especially in street food areas with poor sanitation. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of different fly trap colors using brown sugar as an attractant on the number of flies captured at street food stalls in Padangsambian, 2026. A quasi-experimental study with a posttest-only control group design was conducted using green, yellow, white, and control (colorless) traps containing 35 g of brown sugar dissolved in 100 mL of water. Observations were carried out for five days at three locations with three repetitions. Data were analyzed using One-Way ANOVA followed by Tukey HSD Post Hoc test. The results showed a significant difference in the number of flies captured among trap colors (p=0.030). Yellow traps captured the highest number of flies and differed significantly from the control (p=0.026). It can be concluded that trap color influences fly captures, with yellow being the most effective color. Keywords: attractant, color variation, trapped flies EFEKTIVITAS VARIASI WARNA PERANGKAP LALAT DENGAN ATRAKTAN GULA MERAH TERHADAP JUMLAH LALAT TERPERANGKAP DI LAPAK STREET FOOD KELURAHAN PADANGSAMBIAN 2026 ABSTRAK Lalat merupakan vektor mekanis penyakit yang dapat mencemari makanan, terutama pada kawasan street food dengan sanitasi yang kurang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas variasi warna perangkap lalat dengan atraktan gula merah terhadap jumlah lalat yang terperangkap di lapak street food Kelurahan Padangsambian tahun 2026. Penelitian menggunakan desain eksperimen kuasi dengan rancangan posttest-only control group. Perlakuan berupa perangkap berwarna hijau, kuning, putih, dan kontrol menggunakan atraktan gula merah 35 gram dalam 100 ml air. Pengamatan dilakukan selama 5 hari pada 3 titik lokasi dengan 3 kali pengulangan. Analisis data menggunakan uji One-Way ANOVA dan Post Hoc Tukey HSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan jumlah lalat yang terperangkap antarvariasi warna (p=0,030). Perangkap berwarna kuning menangkap lalat paling banyak dan berbeda signifikan dibandingkan kontrol (p=0,026). Disimpulkan bahwa warna perangkap memengaruhi jumlah lalat yang terperangkap, dengan warna kuning sebagai warna paling efektif. Kata kunci : atraktan, variasi warna, lalat terperangkap
