Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF LEUKOCYTE LEVELS IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS IN BALUK VILLAGE, KECAMATAN NEGARA ABSTRACT Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by blood glucose levels exceeding normal. Based on the analysis of the relationship between leukocytes in diabetes mellitus, namely inducing immune deficiency through several mechanisms. Leukocytes is a state of increasing the number of leukocytes in the body. Leukocytes can occur due to decreased phagocytic function and is the body's immune response to infections that occur. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of leukocyte levels in patients with diabetes mellitus in Baluk Village, Negara District. This type of descriptive research was conducted in January-May 2022 using a random sampling technique with the Automatic Hematology Analyzer method, totaling 34 respondents. Leukocyte levels were checked with a Hematology Analyzer. The results of normal leukocyte levels were 23 respondents (67.64%), the results of high leukocyte levels were 11 respondents (32.35%). High leukocyte levels were more commonly found in pre-elderly patients aged 55-64 years as many as 6 respondents (17.64%). High leukocyte levels are more dominant in women as many as 7 respondents (20.58%). The conclusion of this study is that most people with diabetes mellitus in Baluk Village have normal leukocyte levels. High leukocyte levels are more common at the age of 55-64 years and are more common in women. Keywords: Leukocyte Level, Diabetes Mellitus GAMBARAN KADAR LEUKOSIT PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS DI DESA BALUK KECAMATAN NEGARA ABSTRAK Diabetes Melitus merupakan suatu penyakit menahun yang ditandai dengan kadar glukosa darah melebihi normal. Berdasarkan analisis hubungan leukosit pada diabetes melitus yaitu menginduksi defisiensi imunitas melalui beberapa mekanisme. Leukosit merupakan keadaan meningkatnya jumlah leukosit di dalam tubuh. Leukosit dapat terjadi karena menurunnya fungsi fagositosis dan merupakan respon imun tubuh terhadap infeksi yang terjadi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar leukosit pada penderita diabetes melitus di Desa Baluk Kecamatan Negara. Jenis penelitian deskritif yang dilakukan pada bulan Januari-Mei 2022 menggunakan Teknik sampel random sampling dengan metode Automatic Hematology Analyzer yang berjumlah 34 responden. Kadar leukosit diperiksa dengan alat Hematology Analyzer. Hasil kadar leukosit normal sebanyak 23 responden (67,64%), hasil kadar leukosit tinggi sebanyak 11 responden (32,35%). Kadar leukosit tinggi lebih banyak ditemukan pada penderita pra-lansia usia 55-64 tahun sebanyak 6 responden (17,64%). Kadar leukosit tinggi lebih dominan terjadi pada perempuan yaitu sebanyak 7 responden (20,58%). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Sebagian besar penderita diabetes melitus di Desa Baluk memiliki kadar leukosit normal. Kadar leukosit tinggi lebih banyak pada usia 55-64 tahun serta lebih banyak dialami pada perempuan. Kata Kunci: Kadar Leukosit, Diabetes Melitus
