Abstract

IDENTIFICATION OF PATHOGEN FUNGI CAUSE ONYCHOMYCOSIS ON NAILS OF CHICKEN MEAT SELLER IN TRADITIONAL MARKETS IN BATUBULAN VILLAGE AREA ABSTRACT Onychomycosis is an infection of the nails caused by dermatophyte, non-dermatophyte, and yeast. Infection is characterized by discoloration of the nails and thickening of the nail plate. The proliferation of fungi can occur in jobs that are often in direct contact with dirty, damp and wet work sites such as chicken meat seller. Because chicken seller make direct contact with chicken meat which causes the hands and nails of traders to become wet and moist. The purpose of this study was to identify the pathogenic fungi that cause onychomycosis on the fingernails of chicken meat traders at traditional market in Batubulan Village. The sample in this study was the fingernails of chicken seller, with as many as 30 respondents. Identification was carried out by the culture on Saboraoud Dextrose Agar (SDA) media and followed by microscopic examination of the growing fungal colonies with Lactophenol Cotton Blue staining. The results of this examination were that all samples were grown on Saboraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) media. The Dermatophyte group was identified as many as 10 and the Yeast group was identified as many as 10. Most of the fungi identified on the fingernails of chicken butchers were Non-Dermatophytes, 18 of which were Aspergillus sp. Chicken meat traders are expected to maintain personal hygiene to avoid fungal infections of the nails. Key words : Fingernails of chickenmeat seller, onychomycosis IDENTIFIKASI JAMUR PATOGEN PENYEBAB ONIKOMIKOSIS PADA KUKU TANGAN PEDAGANG DAGING AYAM DI PASAR TRADISIONAL KAWASAN DESA BATUBULAN ABSTRAK Onikomikosis merupakan infeksi pada kuku yang disebabkan oleh jamur dermatofita, non-dermatofita, dan yeast. Infeksi ditandai dengan perubahan warna kuku dan penebalan lempeng kuku. Perkembangbiakan jamur dapat terjadi pada pekerjaan yang sering kontak langsung dengan lokasi kerja yang kotor, lembab dan basah seperti pedagang daging ayam. Karena pedagang ayam melakukan kontak langsung dengan daging ayam yang mengakibatkan bagian tangan dan kuku pedagang menjadi basah dan lembab. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi jamur patogen penyebab onikomikosis pada kuku tangan pedagang daging ayam di pasar tradisional kawasan Desa Batubulan. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah potongan kuku tangan pedagang ayam sebanyak 30 responden. Identifikasi dilakukan dengan pemeriksaan kultur pada media Saboraoud Dextrosa Agar (SDA) dan dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaan mikroskopis koloni jamur yang tumbuh dengan pewarnaan Lactophenol Cotton Blue. Hasil pemeriksaan ini adalah seluruh sampel tumbuh pada media Saboraud Dextrosa Agar (SDA). Golongan Dermatofitan teridentifikasi sebanyak 10 sampel yaitu Trichophyton sp., 10 sampel teridentifikasi Yeast dan jamur yang paling banyak teridentifikasi yaitu Golongan Non-Dermatofita teridentifikasi terdapat 18 sampel yaitu Aspergillus sp. Diharapkan pedagang daging ayam lebih menjaga kebersihan diri agar terhidar dari infeksi jamur. Kata kunci : Kuku tangan pedagang daging ayam, onikomikosis
