Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY IN BANJAR SANGGING TIHINGAN VILLAGE KLUNGKUNG REGENCY ABSTRACT Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin or the body cannot use the insulin it produces effectively. As a result, there is an increase in the concentration of glucose in the blood. The purpose of this study was to describe blood glucose levels in the elderly in Banjar Sangging, Tihingan Village, Klungkung Regency. This research method is a descriptive research conducted in March-April 2022 with a total of 30 respondents obtained by simple random sampling technique. Blood glucose levels were measured using the Point Of Care Testing (POCT) method. The results showed that the respondents characteristics based on age were mostly 60-65 years old (43.3%). Based on gender, the highest number of elderly is female elderly (56.7%). The results of measuring blood glucose levels when in the elderly (33.3%) had blood glucose levels <90 g/dL categorized as non-DM, (63.3%) had blood glucose levels at 90-199 g/dL categorized as uncertain DM, and (3.4%) had blood glucose levels when 200 mg/dL were categorized as DM. Blood glucose levels tend to be high when the risk of DM is more commonly found in the age range of 71-75 years. And more experienced by elderly women. The conclusion of this study is that many elderly Banjar Sangging who have blood glucose levels at 90-199 g/dL are categorized as uncertain DM. Changes in glucose levels when influenced by many factors. The advice for the elderly to apply a healthy lifestyle. Keywords: Elderly, blood glucose levels, DM GAMBARAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH SEWAKTU PADA LANSIA DI BANJAR SANGGING DESA TIHINGAN KABUPATEN KLUNGKUNG ABSTRAK Diabetes Mellitus (DM) merupakan penyakit gangguan metabolik menahun akibat pankreas tidak memproduksi cukup insulin atau tubuh tidak dapat menggunakan insulin yang diproduksi secara efektif. Akibatnya terjadi peningkatan konsentrasi glukosa di dalam darah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada lansia di Banjar Sangging Desa Tihingan Kabupaten Klungkung. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yang dilakukan pada bulan Maret-April 2022 dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 30 orang yang diperoleh dengan teknik simple random sampling. Kadar glukosa darah sewaktu diukur dengan metode Point Of Care Testing (POCT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik responden berdasarkan umur yang paling banyak usia rentang 60-65 tahun (43,3%). Berdasarkan jenis kelamin jumlah lansia terbanyak yaitu lansia perempuan (56,7%). Hasil pengukuran kadar glukosa darah sewaktu pada lansia (33,3%) memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu <90 g/dL dikategorikan bukan DM, (63,3%) memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu 90-199 g/dL dikategorikan belum pasti DM, dan (3,4%) memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu ≥200 mg/dL dikategorikan DM. Kadar Glukosa darah sewaktu cenderung tinggi yang beresiko DM lebih banyak ditemukan pada rentang usia 71-75 tahun. Serta lebih banyak dialami oleh lansia perempuan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah banyak lansia banjar sangging yang memiliki kadar glukosa darah sewaktu 90-199 g/dL dikategorikan belum pasti DM. Perubahan kadar glukosa sewaktu dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor. Adapun saran kepada lansia agar menerapkan pola hidup sehat. Kata kunci : Lansia, kadar glukosa darah, DM
