Abstract

A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY WITH HYPERTENSION AT PUSKESMAS 2 NEGARA JEMBRANA REGENCY IN 2022 ABSTRACT Background The elderly will normally experience the aging process and physiological changes that can lead to a decrease in body mass and an increase in fat mass. This can increase the risk of degenerative diseases in the elderly such as hypertension. Hypertension is a multifactorial disease that can be caused by cholesterol. Hypercholesterolemia can clog peripheral blood vessels, thus triggering hypertension. The aims of this study was to describe the of total cholesterol levels in elderly with hypertension at Puskesmas 2 Negara Jembrana Regency in 2022 by measuring the total cholesterol levels of respondents using the POCT tool brand Easy Touch GCU with Electrode-Based Biosensor method. This study was conducted from April-May 2022. The research method uses non probability techniques and purposive sampling method involving 30 elderly people in Puskesmas 2 Negara Jembrana Regency. The results showed that most of the elderly were in the category of pre-elderly (45-59 years old) as many as 19 person (63%). A total of 8 elderly people (26,7%) have normal total cholesterol levels, as many as 15 elderly (50%) have total cholesterol threshold levels and as many as 7 elderly (23,3%) have high total cholesterol levels. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that most of the elderly people with hypertension in Puskesmas 2 Negara have total cholesterol in threshold levels. Keyword : elderly, total cholesterol, hypertension GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA LANSIA PENDERITA HIPERTENSI DI PUSKESMAS 2 NEGARA KABUPATEN JEMBRANA TAHUN 2022 ABSTRAK Lansia secara normal akan mengalami proses penuaan dan perubahan fisiologis yang dapat menyebabkan penurunan massa tubuh dan peningkatan massa lemak. Hal ini dapat meningkatkan resiko penyakit degeneratif pada lansia seperti hipertensi. Hipertensi merupakan penyakit multifaktorial yang dapat disebabkan oleh kolesterol. Hiperkolesterolemia dapat menyumbat pembuluh darah perifer, sehingga memicu terjadinya hipertensi. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada lansia penderita hipertensi di Puskesmas 2 Negara Kabupaten Jembrana Tahun 2022 dengan mengukur kadar kolesterol total responden menggunakan alat POCT merek Easy Touch GCU metode Elektrode-Based Biosensor. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan April-Mei 2022.Metode penelitian ini menggunakan teknik non probability secara purposive sampling melibatkan 30 lansia di Puskesmas 2 Negara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar lansia adalah kategori usia pralansia (45-59 tahun) sebanyak 19 lansia (63%). Sebanyak 8 lansia (26,7%) memiliki kadar kolesterol total normal, sebanyak 15 lansia (50%) memiliki kadar kolesterol total ambang batas dan sebanyak 7 lansia (23,3%) memiliki kadar kolesterol total tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar lansia penderita hipertensi di Puskesmas 2 Negara memiliki kadar kolesterol total ambang batas.
