Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) can occur in premature babies and those who were born at term. Children born with LBW have a lower growth pattern than children with normal birth weight. One of the periods that really needs special attention in children with LBW is the toddler period. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between LBW and growth in toddler at UPTD PuskesmasBlahbatuh II Gianyar. Type of the research was analytic correlation with cross sectional method. The study was implemented in February – April 2022 with a simple random sampling.The sample was 47 toddler. The type of data used was secondary data from the maternal cohort to determine the child's birth weight and toddler cohort to determine the child's growth. Data was analyzed using univariate analysis in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate using Fisher's Exact test to analyze the relationship between LBW and growth in toddler and p value = 0.018 (p <0,05) which can be concluded that there is a relationship between LBW and growth in toddler. The place of research is expected to increase the attention to LBW, next researchers can examine other variables that affect the growth of toddler.
