Abstract

VEGETABLE AND FRUIT CONSUMPTION AND STATUS NUTRITION IN STUDENTS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 2 BUDAKELING KARANGASEM ABSTRACT Based on the results of the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2018, the consumption of vegetables and fruit for the Indonesian population in school-age children is still low. Observation aims to determine the consumption of vegetables and fruit as well as nutritional status in school-age children, observations using 25 observation subjects. Nutritional status data were collected by measuring height and weighing directly the subject of observation and then processed with BMI/U. Vegetable and fruit consumption data was collected using a 24-hour recall method, then data on vegetable and fruit consumption was processed by calculating the portion, then categorized as sufficient vegetables if consumption 250 g/day and less if consumption < 250 g/day then enough for fruit if consumption 150 g/day and less than 150 g/day. Most of the observation subjects had good nutritional status, namely 84%. The consumption of vegetables per day on the subject of observation is more than half in the less category, namely 56%. Consumption of fruit per day on the subject of observation is mostly in the less category, namely 64%. Consumption of vegetables and fruit per day on the subject of observation is mostly in the category of less than 60%. It is hoped that the Nutrition Officer of the Puskesmas in Loaddem District, Karangasem to provide nutritional education regarding the consumption of vegetables and fruit for elementary school children and for parents to pay attention and maintain the consumption of vegetables and fruit in children.
