Abstract
EVALUATION OF PAGT, DIETARY INTAKE AND NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS AT GANESHA GENERAL HOSPITAL ABSTRACK Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin or the body cannot use the insulin it produces effectively. Insulin is a hormone that regulates the balance of blood sugar levels. DM sufferers are very susceptible to decreased BMI. The longer you suffer from diabetes, the more you will affect your nutritional status because of the uncontrolled intake of DM patients, especially the intake of macronutrients. The purpose of this observation was to determine the evaluation of food intake and nutritional status of patients with diabetes mellitus at Ganesha General Hospital. The place of observation is at Ganesha General Hospital in Celuk Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency with 15 people as subjects of observation aged 20-50 years. Data from the evaluation of food intake during hospitalization was collected by looking at the food intake form in the medical record, processed using the nutrisurvey program and presented descriptively. The results obtained in this observation were that the intake of energy, protein, and fat of the observed subjects each had the same percentage in the good category as much as 53%, while for the carbohydrate intake the majority of the observed subjects were good as much as 60%. Evaluation of food intake in terms of consumption of macronutrients and nutritional status of the observed subjects showed normal results because all of the observed subjects had received direct counseling by a nutritionist during treatment. It is hoped that after observing DM patients more adhere to and apply the 3J diet principle (Amount, Type, Schedule). Keywords: Diet, nutritional status, Diabetes Mellitus
