Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is one of the metabolic diseases with characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels that exceeds normal. Several factors can affect the increase in blood glucose, including the consumption of carbohydrates and exercise. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of carbohydrate consumption and the frequency of exercise with blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at UPTD Puskesmas II Denpasar Barat. This type of research is observational with a cross sectional design. The sample size in this study was 50 people. Data on the level of carbohydrate consumption were collected using the 24-hour recall method, the frequency of exercise through interviews using the exercise frequency form, blood glucose levels by taking blood using the Easy Touch (GCU) tool. The data was processed by statistical analysis of Chi Square. The results showed as many as 44% had a low level of carbohydrate consumption, 60% had a good exercise frequency and 66% had normal blood glucose levels. There is a relationship between the level of carbohydrate consumption with blood glucose levels, p=0.003 (p<0.05). There is a relationship between exercise frequency and blood glucose levels, p=0.000 (p<0.05). Keywords: carbohydrate consumption, exercise, blood glucose
