Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ABOUT DENTAL BRUSHING IN STUDENTS SMPN 1 DENPASAR IN 2022 ABSTRACT Dental and oral health is part of body health that plays a role in determining a person's health status. Improper oral hygiene will cause easy buildup of plaque, white matter, and calculus which in turn will be detrimental to periodontal health. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge and skills of brushing teeth in students of SMPN 1 Denpasar in 2022. This study was a descriptive study with a survey design. The number of respondents was 46 students of SMPN 1 Denpasar, the research was conducted in April. The results of the study showed that 50% of knowledge of brushing teeth with good criteria and 50% of sufficient criteria with each of them amounting to 23 people and 0% for poor criteria. The average level of knowledge of brushing teeth is 78.04 with good criteria. The highest tooth brushing skill was with the criteria for needing guidance as many as 26 people (56.52%) and the lowest was with very good criteria as many as four people (8.70%). The average tooth brushing skill is 54.34 with the criteria needing guidance. The conclusion of this research is that respondents have good and sufficient knowledge with the same amount and average knowledge of good criteria. Some of the highest brushing skills are with the criteria for needing guidance and the lowest are for very good criteria with an average brushing skills for needing guidance. Keywords: Knowledge; Skills; Brushing teeth GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERAMPILAN MENYIKAT GIGI PADA SISWA SMPN 1 DENPASAR TAHUN 2022 ABSTRAK Kesehatan gigi dan mulut merupakan bagian dari kesehatan tubuh yang ikut berperan dalam menentukan status kesehatan seseorang. Kebersihan mulut yang tidak benar akan menyebabkan mudahnya penumpukan plak, material alba, dan kalkulus yang pada akhirnya akan merugikan kesehatan periodontal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dan keterampilan menyikat gigi pada siswa SMPN 1 Denpasar tahun 2022. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan desain survey. Jumlah responden sebanyak 46 siswa SMPN 1 Denpasar, penelitian dilakukan pada bulan april. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 50% pengetahuan menyikat gigi dengan kriteria baik dan 50% kriteria cukup dengan masing-masing berjumlah 23 orang dan 0% untuk kriteria kurang. Rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan menyikat gigi adalah 78,04 dengan kriteria baik. Keterampilan menyikat gigi tertinggi adalah dengan kriteria perlu bimbingan sebanyak 26 orang (56,52%) dan terendah adalah dengan kriteria sangat baik sebanyak empat orang (8,70%). Rata-rata keterampilan menyikat gigi adalah 54,34 dengan kriteria perlu bimbingan. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah respinden memiliki pengetahuan dengan kriteria baik dan cukup dengan jumlah yang sama danrata-rata pengetahuan kriteria baik. Sebagian keterampilan menyikat gigi tertinggi adalah dengan kriteria perlu bimbingan dan terendah adalah kriteria sangat baik dengan rata-rata keterampilan menyikat gigi perlu bimbingan.
