Abstract

BACTERIOLOGICAL QUALITY REVIEW OF SPRINGS IN NYALIAN VILLAGE BANJARANGKAN DISTRICT KLUNGKUNG REGENCY-BALI ABSTRACT Background: Nyalian Village has springs that is used by the villager for drinking, washing, bathing, and also for religious activities. Based on diarrheal disease data in health profile of Klungkung Regency in 2019, diarrhea cases were found in Banjarangkan I Community Health Center region specifically 571 cases for all ages. Aims: To determine the bacteriological quality of springs in Nyalian Village. Methods: This study uses a quantitative research type with a descriptive research design. This study uses a non-probability sampling technique with saturated sampling. The sample size in this study was 21 samples. Bacteriological examination was carried out using the Most Probable Number Variety II (555) method. Results: Based on Permenkes 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010, there are 5 samples (24%) that qualify and 16 samples (76%) that unqualify the total coliform requirements. There were 13 samples (62%) that qualify and 8 samples (38%) that unqualify the Escherichia coli requirements. Conclusion: The springs in Nyalian Village unqualify the drinking water requirements based on Permenkes No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010, because some samples still contain MPN coliform and MPN Escherichia coli that exceed the limit, more than 0 MPN/100 ml sample.
