Abstract
Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition, especially in the First 100 Days of Life (HPK). WHO and UNICEF (2002) jointly developed a global strategy by establishing the Golden Standard of Infant Feeding, which includes 4 things as follows: 1). Early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD) immediately after birth, 2). Give only breast milk from birth until the age of 6 months, 3). Provide appropriate complementary feeding (MP-ASI) since the age of 6 months, and 4). Continue breastfeeding until the child is 2 years old. This study aims to determine how to apply the best food gold standard (with the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-59 months in the UPTD area of the Mengwi I Health Center, Badung Regency. This type of research is observational with a case control design using secondary data from the EPPGBM input from the Puskesmas and primary data through interview. The number of samples was 80 which included 40 case groups and 40 control groups, data were collected by questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out by univariate and bivariate using chi square test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD) and the incidence of stunting (p < 0.001), exclusive breastfeeding with stunting (p<0.001), complementary feeding practice (MP-ASI) with stunting (p<0.00), breastfeeding until the age of 2 years with stunting (p<0.003) , and the application of the gold standard of the best food with the incidence of stunting (p < 0.001).
