Abstract

Abstract. Student’s nutritional problem have a big impact on their growth and development. The problem due to an unbalanced diet. The effort needed to prevent the problems must begin with healthy lifestyle in accordance with the Guidelines for Balanced Nutrition (PGS). Guidelines for Balance Nutrition consist of four principles that are diversification of food consumption, physical activity, hygiene and body weight monitoring. This research was descriptive study aimed to know the consumption behavior of students of Nutrition Department of Health Polytechnic Denpasar. Target population of this research was the students Program study D III who studied at semesters III and V, amounting to 90 people. All of that student were involved in the research as sample. Results showed that 52% of the sample had good knowledge, 43% adequate and 5% unadequate. Students attitude about balance nutrition showed that 12% strongly agree, 82% disagree, 6% undecided and most students apply the guidelines of balanced nutrition. In divertification of food consumption, only 5% students were excellent, 30% good, 38% fairly good, 27% bad. Therefore, a health promotion and dissemination are needed to increase the consumption behavior of balanced nutrition. Keywords: consumption, behavior, balanced nutrition
