Abstract

The main nutritional problem in young women in Indonesia is iron nutrition anemia. Various efforts have been made to overcome iron nutrition anemia in young women. One government program to deal with and to avoid the problem is giving iron supplement tablets to young women. This research aims to find out the anemia status of the students based on the regularity of their taking iron supplement tablets. This is a cross-sectional research plan by using the samples of 51 students from Triatma Jaya Tourism Vocational School Tabanan. The data obtained have been analyzed according to the types of the data and the purpose of the research, which is then being presented in the form of a distribution table and a cross table. The method used in analyzing the data is spearman rank correlation. The results of the research on the samples of those who regularly took the iron supplement tablet (TTD) (66,7 %) is that more of them did not suffer anemia i.e. 48 persons (94,1%), and to the contrary, the samples of those who irregularly took the TTD (33,3%) revealed that only 3 persons (5,9%) did not suffer anemia.. The results of statistical tests showed a significant relationship between the percentage of the regularity of taking supplement tablets with the status of anemia in students at SMK Pariwisata Triatma Jaya Tabanan (p value = 0.002 < α (0.05)), with a correlation coefficient value (rs) of (+) 0.418 which means that the relationship has a strong relationship in the moderate positive category, so it can be concluded that the regularity of taking blood supplement tablet will increase the hemoglobin rate.
