Abstract

RELATIONSHIP OF ATTITUDE WITH THE REGULARITY OF VISUAL INSPECTION OF ACETIC ACID IN WOMEN’S CHILDBEARING AGE ABSTRACT Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid is a visual cervical test using acetic acid in women of childbearing age. Data from the Health Centre of Gerokgak I in 2019, women of childbearing age in the area were 8,652 people, while those who carried out VIA examinations were 2,394 (27.6%) people. This study aimed to determine the relationship between attitude and regularity of the visual inspection of acetic acid in women of childbearing age at The Health Centre of Gerokgak I. The type of this study was analytic study with cross sectional design and used purposive sampling technique invloved 84 samples of women childbearing age in The Health Centre of Gerokgak I. The research instruments used questionnaires and register at the Puskesmas. Data analysis used univariate in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate used Chi Square test with a significance level of < 0.05. The results of the attitude research were obtained from 84 respondents, 44 (52.4%) respondents had positive attitudes and 40 (47.6%) had negative attitudes, the results of regularity VIA examinations were obtained from 84 respondents, 45 (53.6%) respondents were irregular and 39 (46.4%) were regular. The results of the Chi Square analysis showed that there was no relationship between attitudes and the regularity in women of childbearing age doing visual inspection of acetic acid (p = 0.85) .The health workers expected continue to provide information through counseling and further researchers expected to examine other variables that affect VIA examinations.
