Abstract
Suci Beji Puyung spring located in Duda Timur village is one of the springs that is often used by resident for drinking water. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical, bacteriological quality of water and knowledge of the users of Suci Beji Puyung spring, Duda Timur Village, Selat District, Karangasem Regency in 2021. This type of research is descriptive. Collection data by bringing water samples to the health laboratory for examination and perfoming calculation on the knowledge questionnaire. Measurement of physical quality and bacteriology was carried out 3 (three) times and filling out the questionnaire was carried out within 1 (one) week. Based on the results, it was found that the physical quality of Suci Beji Puyung water with a temperature of 25,5°C, and the second and third week 27,7°C, tasteless, odorless from week I to week III. Color 20 NTU, 0 NTU, 20 NTU. For the bacteriological quality of Eschericia coli 7/100ml samples, 5/100ml samples, and 2,2/100ml samples. While for Total coliform 150/100ml samples, 5/100ml samples and 2,2/100ml samples. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 Concerning Water Quality of the Suci Beji Puyung meets health requirements in terms of physical quality, and does not meet health requirements in terms of bacteriological quality. For the level of public knowledge, the results obtained were 98 respondents or 58% in the moderate category. The community is urged to boil water before drinking it, always maintain cleanliness of the springs, make proper spring protection and for the staff of the Puskesmas Selat to increas supervision.
