Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF FOOT CARE IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS AT UPTD PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER II WEST DENPASAR IN 2021 ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus is a type of disease caused by an increase in blood sugar or hyperglycemia which can cause various complications, both acute and chronic. One of the complications of diabetes mellitus that we often see is diabetic foot. Caring for foot care is a primary prevention effort to prevent diabetic ulcers and avoidable amputation. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of foot care in patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type II at the UPTD Public Health Center II West Denpasar in 2021. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with a cross sectional approach. In this study, the number of samples obtained was 36 people using the Non Probability Sampling method, namely purposive sampling. This research was conducted from March to April 2021 at the UPTD Public Health Center II West Denpasar in 2021. The results showed that most of the samples had less foot care, as many as 22 people (61.1%). With these results, it is hoped that medical staff, can carry out their role as educators and can be more routine in providing counseling about foot care for people with diabetes mellitus to prevent diabetic ulcers and can improve foot care more optimally Keywords: Description, Foot Care, Diabetes Mellitus GAMBARAN PERAWATAN KAKI PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE II DI UPTD PUSKESMAS II DENPASAR BARAT TAHUN 2021 ABSTRAK Diabetes melitus merupakan sekelompok penyakit yang ditandai oleh kenaikan gula darah atau hiperglikemia yang dapat menimbulkan berbagai komplikasi baik akut maupun kronik. Salah satu komplikasi penyakit diabetes melitus yang sering dijumpai adalah kaki diabetik. Perawatan kaki merupakan upaya pencegahan primer terjadinya ulkus diabetik dan amputasi dapat dihindarkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran perawatan kaki pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe II di UPTD Puskesmas II Denpasar Barat tahun 2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel sejumlah 36 orang dengan metode digunakan yaitu Non Probability Sampling yaitu purposive sampling. Penelitian ini dilakukan bulan Maret-April 2021 di di UPTD Puskesmas II Denpasar Barat tahun 2021. Hasil penelitian diketahui sebagian besar mempunyai perawatan kaki kurang yaitu sebanyak 22 orang (61,1%). Diharapkan kepada tenaga kesehatan dalam perannya sebagai edukator dapat lebih rutin dalam memberikan penyuluhan tentang perawatan kaki pada penderita diabetes melitus untuk mencegah terjadinya ulkus diabetikum dan dapat meningkatkan perawatan kaki lebih maksimal.
