Abstract
COMMUNITY STIGMA AGAINST PEOPLE WITH MENTAL DISORDERS AT SAMPLANGAN VILLAGE, GIANYAR IN 2021 ABSTRACT Mental disorders are still a serious problem in the world and can’t be separated from the Stigma. Stigma is a negative label attached to person given by society. Stigma against people with mental disorders can interfere with treatment, the recovery and even lead to shackling actions taken by family. The aims of research is to identify the community's stigma against people with mental disorders at Samplangan Village, Gianyar in 2021. The method of research used is descriptive research. The results showed that the community's stigma against people with mental disorders in Samplangan was in the negative category, namely 52 people (52.0%). Based on age, most of the people in the range 46-55 years with negative stigma were 18 people (18.0%). Based on gender, most of them were women who had a negative stigma, namely 29 people (29.0%). Based on the level of education, most of them with basic education level have a negative stigma, namely 30 people (30.0%). Based on occupation, the work of farmers has a negative stigma, namely 24 people (24.0%). The conclusion of this study is the community's stigma against people with mental disorders in Samplangan is in the negative category. Keywords : mental disorders, community, stigma.
