Abstract

A hernia is an abnormal lump that occurs when the intra-abdominal area presses on the muscle that usually involves the stomach and intestines. Factors that affect the weakness of the abdominal wall are age, obesity, constipation, lifting heavy loads and congenital. Acute pain often occurs in patients who will undergo surgery in the preoperative room which makes the patient uncomfortable so that it can affect vital signs above normal and become a consideration for the anesthesia team to continue anesthesia. The purpose of this scientific work is to find out nursing care for acute pain in patients who underwent preoperative herniotomy in the Central Surgical Installation of Mangusada Hospital, Badung. The results in the assessment of the two managed cases, the patient complained of pain accompanied by an increase in vital signs, the cause was inflammation and smooth muscle spasm. The diagnosis raised was acute pain with the intervention of warm compress relaxation techniques in pain management. The evaluation of this managed case is that the acute pain is reduced. Conclusion: the results of the analysis showed that the warm compress relaxation technique was able to reduce pain from moderate pain to mild pain. The author hopes that this scientific work can be used by the community and used as a guide for future research. Keywords: Herniotomy, Pain, Compress
