Abstract
Diarrhea is an environmental based disease which is the main cause of illness and death. One of the important factors that can cause diarrhea is errors in the provision of nutrition to children, where the child has been given complementary foods (complementary foods) before the age of 6 months. Babies are very at risk of getting diarrhea because the baby's digestion is not able to digest food other than breast milk. The aim of the study was to describe the incidence of diarrhea in infants at the Midwife's Independent Practice Luh Ayu Koriawati, A.Md.Keb. This type of research is descriptive using a cross sectional approach. The study was conducted using 40 samples of mothers who have babies aged 9-12 months. The results of this study, from 40 samples, found 12 (30%) samples who gave exclusive breastfeeding and 27 (67.5%) samples who did not provide exclusive breastfeeding both experienced acute diarrhea with a percentage of 96.4% and 3.6% experiencing prolonged diarrhea. The age characteristics of the majority of respondents are 20-35 (100%). Maternal education is mostly basic education (57.5%) and the majority of working mothers (75%) and more information sources about diarrhea from the mass media (45). The incidence of diarrhea can be influenced by the characteristics of the mother so that it is hoped that the mother will understand more about diarrhea.
