Abstract
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is an infection caused by microorganisms in the structure of the airways that do not function for gas exchange, including the nasal cavity, pharynx and larynx, known as (ARI). Word Health Organization (WHO) 2020, ARI is the main cause of morbidity and mortality of infectious diseases in the world. Nearly 4 million people die from ARI each year, 89% due to lower respiratory tract infections. An unhealthy home environment will affect the occurrence of ARI such as the presence or absence of lighting, good ventilation, temperature, humidity, walls and the density of the house's occupancy to be one of the factors that play a role in the spread of germs (ISPA). This study was to determine the relationship between the physical quality of the house and sufferers of ARI in Tenganan Village, Manggis District, Karangasem Regency. This research uses descriptive quantitative research method with case control design. The Sempel of the ARI group was totaled 80 ARI patients in Tengnanan Village. The sample of the non-ARI group was 80 people who had never had an ARI and had characteristics such as the ARI group. The results of the study using the Chi-Squere test obtained Asymp.Sig. (2-sided) of 0.000 <0.05 as alpha. So it can be concluded that there is arelationship between the physical quality of the house and people with ARI in Tenganan Village, Manggis District, Karangasem Regency in 2021. And it is recommended that ventilation should always be open every day, especially in the morning and to review research methods on health related to the environment and try to find other variables.
