Abstract
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTIVATION LEVEL OF WOMEN CHILDBEARING AGE WITH PARTICIPATION IN VISUAL INSPECTION ACETIC ACID EXAMINATIONS IN BAJERA VILLAGE Cervical cancer is a disease that ranks third in death in Indonesia, new cases are increasing every year. The death rate by cervical cancer in 2020 is nine percent. The high mortality rate is because 70% of cases are found at an advanced stage. Cervical cancer can be detected by the visual inspection acetic acid (VIA) method. This study aims to determine the relationship between the motivation level of women of childbearing age regarding the VIA examination with participation in the VIA examination in Bajera village. This type of research is analytic observational with cross-sectional design. The study population was women of childbearing age in Bajera village. The research sample was determined by proportional simple random sampling technique with a sample size of 94 people. Data collection instrument using a questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate using contingency coefficient (x2) with a significance level of p <0.05. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the level of motivation and participation in the VIA examination (p = 0.01). The village is expected to pay attention to women of childbearing age about participating in VIA examinations, for health workers to expand socialization about VIA Key words: motivation; women of childbearing age; VIA examination.
