Abstract

Disasters are events that threaten society that affect all ages, including children. Efforts to mitigate this impact are by providing earthquake disaster preparedness education through audiovisual media education in the form of providing videos related to earthquake disaster preparedness. This study aims to see the effect of giving education with audiovisual media on the preparedness of elementary school students in the face of earthquakes. This type of research is pre-experimental design with the design used is One-group pre-post design using simple random sampling. The number of samples is 30 people. The results showed that the readiness of primary school children before being given the audiovisual media education was at most in the almost ready category as many as 15 people (50.0%) and after being given it showed an increase in preparedness knowledge with the results that most students were in the very ready category as many as 26 people (86, 7%). The results of the study were tested with the Wilcoxon statistical test, it was found that the p-value = 0.000 <alpha (0.05), it can be denied that there was an effect that offered audiovisual media education on student preparedness in facing earthquakes at SD Negeri 1 Lebih Gianyar. It is recommended for school teachers to increase the provision of disaster material by developing other similar playing media. Keywords : Disaster, Preparendness, Audiovisual Media Education
