Abstract

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), in the form of an enlarged prostate gland that results in disruption of urine flow. One of the most commonly performed procedures for patients with BPH is Transurethral Resection Of the Prostate (TURP) surgery. Pain is an unpleasant symptom experienced by BPH patients after TURP surgery. One of the techniques used to reduce postoperative pain is early mobilization, by eliminating the concentration of the patientat the location of pain or the area ofoperation, reducing the activation of chemical mediators in the inflammatory process that increases pain response and minimizes pain nerve transmission to the central nervous system. Through this mechanism, early mobilization is effective in reducing postoperative pain intensity. The purpose of this case study is to determine the effectiveness of nursing care in BPH patients after TURP surgery who experience acute pain problems with nursing interventions providing non-pharmacological therapy with early mobilization. The intervention was given for 3 times 24 hours, the frequency was 2 times a day with a duration of approximately 15-20 minutes. The results obtained after providing nursing care with nursing interventionsproviding non-pharmacological therapy for early mobilization are that the pain scale can be reduced to a scale of 2 ((0-10)). The combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy, early mobilization can reduce pain levels. Keywords: BPH, Pain, Early mobilization
