Abstract
Preliminary: Coronary heart disease occurs due to atheroma plaque blockage in the coronary arteries. Various risk factors are the driving force for coronary heart disease, some of which can be modified and some are not. Various techniques have been developed to open blood vessels and restore perfusion of blood flow through the coronary arteries, one of which is the Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). The PCI procedure is associated with post-procedural vascular injury because it is often performed on the femoral artery. The reduction of post-PCI complications can be accomplished by immobilization such as lying supine in bed for 6-8 hours. The immobilizing process of the patient will cause discomfort such as low back pain, back pain, orthostatic hypotension, and tingling sensation. Nursing problems that arise in post-PCI patients are acute pain, risk of bleeding and risk of decreased cardiac output. The intervention to adjust the left and right oblique positions was analyzed with the concept of evidance based practice to obtain the latest knowledge based on clear and relevant evidence in making effective clinical decisions to treat acute pain problems in patients. The result was that after being given a left and right oblique position, the acute pain problem was resolved with the evaluation results not complaining of pain, no anxiety and decreased pain scale. Keywords: Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), acute pain, left and right oblique position
