Abstract
Pneumonia is one of the biggest causes of death in the world. Pneumonia is still listed as a major health problem in adults in developing countries. Pneumonia can be defined as an acute respiratory infection that attacks the lungs. The priority nursing diagnosis that appears in patients with pneumonia is ineffective airway clearance. This study aims to determine the the nursing care of ineffective airway clearance on patient with pneumonia at emergency room RSUP sanglah Denpasar. The results of the assessment of the two managed clients with ineffective airway clearance problems were obtained 80% of major data and 62.5% of minor data. Nursing planning is prepared based on the reference of the Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standard (SLKI), the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standard (SIKI) and the Innovation Intervention based on the EBP. The expected outcome after giving nursing interventions for 1 x 4 hours is with an increased airway clearance label. The interventions provided according to the SIKI guidelines include the main intervention and the supporting intervention. The main interventions provided were airway management, effective cough training, and supporting interventions in the form of chest physiotherapy. While the innovation intervention based on EBP is by giving simple inhalation with peppermint aromatherapy. The implementation of nursing is carried out in accordance with the planned nursing plan for 1 x 4 hours Nursing implementation is given for 1 x 4 hours according to a predetermined plan. From the intervention for 1 x 4 hours, the evaluation results showed an increase in airway clearance. Provide a simple inhalation innovation intervention with peppermint aromatherapy that is effective in improving airway clearance as a complementary-based nurse independent action.
