Abstract
The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2018 reported that the prevalence of infants with growth and development disorders was 28.7% and Indonesia was among the third countries with the highest prevalence in the Southeast Asia region. Nutrition needed by babies to support the continuity of the growth process is breasmilk. The availabiliti of exclusive breastmilk in UPTD Puskesmas III Dinas Kesehatan Denpasar Utara is 46,7% under the national stage. The aim this research is to know the correlation between giving exclusive breastfeeding with growing age babies 6-12 months in UPTD Puskesmas III Dinas Kesehatan Kecamatan Denpasar Utara. This study used an correlation analytic method with a cross sectional design and statistical analysis using Fisher Exact Test. The sample in this study was 54 respondents with a sampling technique non probability sampling namely purposive sampling. The data collected is primary data, data collection technique used 2 methods, namely the interview method to determine the history of exclusive breastfeeding and the measurement method to determine the baby's body weight and length. The results of the study were obtained p=0,034 ( p < 0,05). Here is a significant correlation between exclusive breastfeeding with aspects of growth in babies 6-12 month. Its very important for health workers to always provide counselling and health education related to the importance of exclusive breastfeeding. Keyword : Growth; Baby; Breastfeeding; Nutrition Status
