Abstract

DESCRIPTION OF EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING IN DALUNG PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER, AT BADUNG DISTRICT YEAR 2021 ABSTRACT Exclusive breastfeeding is very important for babies. Exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia is still very low. This study aims to determine the description of exclusive breastfeeding at the Dalung Public Health Center at Badung Regency. This study was designed as an observational descriptive study with a cross sectional method. Interviews were conducted on 37 breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 6–12 months. The sampling method was simple random sampling. The study was conducted on April 16 - May 16, 2021. Data analysis used univariate analysis. The results showed that there were 20 mothers who breastfed exclusively at the Dalung Public Health Center (54.1%). Mothers who are supported by their husbands and provide exclusive breastfeeding are as many as 20 people (54.1%), 12 people (32,4%) have exclusive breastfeeding (10.9%) and 28 people (75,7%) have exclusive breastfeeding. The two supports are the lowest and highest support that provides exclusive breastfeeding. The conclusion from this research is that the husband's support in exclusive breastfeeding still needs to be improved. Researchers suggest that health workers provide counseling on the importance of breastfeeding to husbands so that husbands understand and are more aware of providing support to mothers in exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months. Key words: exclusive breastfeeding, husband's support, breastfeeding mothers
